Material + finish lab

Fabrics + finishes

Choose material by performance, hand, drape, surface, decoration compatibility and care—not by a weight number alone.

Weight + structure

Weight helps describe a fabric, but knit construction, fiber, finishing and density decide how the garment actually behaves. Approve the physical swatch and sample.

  • Measured weight
  • Fiber composition
  • Knit or weave structure
  • Drape and recovery

Texture + hand

Loopback, brushed, compact, slub, ribbed, twill and canvas surfaces change both the visual result and decoration response.

  • Face texture
  • Reverse texture
  • Softness or dryness
  • Surface consistency

Treatments

Garment wash, pigment direction, distressing and other treatments can affect shade, hand and measurement. Sample on the final construction where possible.

  • Target appearance
  • Acceptable variation
  • Measurement effect
  • Care expectation

Color direction

Build a color standard from an approved physical reference and document how it will be evaluated. Screen color alone is not a production standard.

  • Physical color reference
  • Lighting condition
  • Lot planning
